  3. Thank you for your faxed (or paper-mailed) inquiry about my programs
  4. or about how to obtain files from Internet anonymous ftp archives of
  5. garbo.uwasa.fi at the University of Vaasa, Finland, or other similar
  6. systems.

  8. If  you  are  not  familiar with the concept of Internet FTP archive
  9. sites,  for  practical  reasons  you  should  first   try   find   a
  10. knowledgeable  person  near you to help you with the basic concepts.
  11. Universities (and a number business firms) are most often  parts  of
  12. this net.
  13.  
  14. If you have access to Internet, and you have the facilities use  FTP
  15. (File  Transfer  Protocol) or WWW (World Wide Web) then utilize that
  16. possibility to connect to an archive a site such as ours. If you are
  17. not familiar with FTP, you are welcome to ask me for our prerecorded
  18. instructions for garbo.uwasa.fi by electronic mail  if  you  have  a
  19. reachable electronic mail address yourself. If you do not receive my
  20. reply within five days, please ask your own site's system manager to
  21. construct a returnable mail path for you.

  23. If  you don't have FTP or WWW then (but only then) consider the mail
  24. servers. As explained in the above, I can send you  our  prerecorded
  25. instructions.  They  also  contain a pointer to Garbo's mail server.
  26. Just send an electronic mail request  for  the  instructions  to  my
  27. email  address.  As for the mail servers of the other archive sites,
  28. trying  to  provide  that   information   is   beyond   our   scope.

  30. I  regret  to  inform that I cannot take the time to arrange sending
  31. programs or other material from garbo.uwasa.fi archives by  ordinary
  32. physical  mail.  This  kind of service is given rather by commercial
  33. shareware   distributors,   and   individual   shareware    authors.
